The Newcastle International Film Festival will feature films for everyone, from Hollywood to Bollywood, a Glamorous Awards Ceremony, Masterclasses with Legends of the silver screen alongside a range of movie magic events across the City of Newcastle and the North East of England

- World premiere of Candida Brady’s Urban & the Shed Crew starring Richard Armitage, Anna Friel and Charlie Heaton
- UK Premiere of Academy-Award winning director Barbara Koppel’s 2017 documentary This is Everything: Gigi Gorgeous
- An exclusive world 1st opportunity to meet and engage in an ‘In Conversation’ Q&A session with the legendary Neil Marshall director of The Descent, Dog Soldiers and Hellboy after the screening of his 2008 hit Doomsday
- Searching For Light (delivered by the region’s very own Gary Fildes, author An Astronomer’s Tale and founder of Kielder Observatory)

PRE-LAUNCH MARCH 28TH
- Ladies Who Mean Business Lunch: In partnership with the Sage Group and with the support of She’s Gott It! and Forward Ladies, NIFF will be pre-opening the festival with a lunch celebrating the incredible women who have helped shape history and inspire millions over the past century. The luncheon will feature a panel discussion with influential women from all industries discussing a series of topics from questions provided by our guests.

- 10 am – 1 pm: Industry InSight: What’s Next Now #Time’sUp? – Women in Film Panel
- 10 am – 11 am: Industry InSight Shifting Sands: Film Distribution Panel
- 10 am – 4 pm: Onceupona Children’s Theatre Company
- 11 am – 12 pm: Industry InSight Playing the World: Globalisation of Film Panel
- 12 pm – 2 pm: Industry InSight: Film in the Age of Netflix – Longform TV vs. Feature Film with Neil Marshall
- 4 pm – 8 pm: A showcase of never before seen glass slides from Newcastle’s Mining Institute highlighting history of the North East and its people
- 6 pm – 2 am: Fright Night – a programme of great horror films including a creening of George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead in a stunning 4K restoration; Neil Marshall’s Doomsday with an InConversation Q&A with the director and cast; great independent horror films and a Forbidden Planet sponsored Costume Contest.
