with a Bachelor and Masters in Film Theatre as well as a Post Graduate Thesis in cinema of NSW. Listed as one of the 50 most powerful
and influential Australian Film professionals by Encore magazine, he is the founding head of films and casting TEMPLE, one of the most prolific award winning Australian film production and consultancy firms based out of Fox Studios – Sydney. Anupam launched an Australian Film Initiative with support from Hugh Jackman in the first year and Baz Luhrmann in the second year and is the founder of DIVERSCREENS. He has directed Australian romcom unINDIAN (starring cricket legend Brett Lee), and is in post of his current film The Run. Anupam is currently developing a slate of high profile Australian film projects, some with development investment from Screen Australia and Screen NSW.

Jane Witherspoon has more than two decades of live-broadcast experience. Whether in the studio or on a red carpet; her passion for live television, loveable Geordie accent, down to earth approach, and flawless Northern work ethic has seen her work across the UK’s biggest TV and Radio networks including the BBC, ITV and Sky. Currently seen on Good Morning Britain, BBC News and reporting on the hottest events for Reuters and Getty Video, Jane previously presented ITV2’s flagship entertainment show ‘FYI Daily’ and hosted ‘Variety Live’ which was broadcast daily from international film festivals including Cannes, Toronto as well as the BAFTAs. One of the UK’s top showbiz presenters, Jane’s interviewed some of the worlds biggest entertainment names including Tom Cruise; Madonna; Brad Pitt; Sylvester Stallone; David Beckham; Beyoncé; George Clooney; Damien Hirst; Johnny Depp; One Direction; Robert Pattinson and John Legend to name a few.
Malcolm has played a significant role in defining parameters of the worlds of entertainment, music, events across our TV screens around the world. One of his early successes was “The Tube” (Channel 4’s legendary show from his hometown of Newcastle upon Tyne which completely reinvigorated live music in the 1980’s). He has over 4 decades experience producing many creative features too numerous to list, however his work is recognised across industry with several BAFTA winning productions to his name. Malcolm was also the creative drive behind the Brit Awards transforming it into one of the largest and most respected music awards ceremonies in the world, in addition he has also produced the Orange BAFTA Film Awards, the UK Music Hall of Fame, Miss World and the Q Awards. He has worked with some of the largest names in the music industry from Queen to U2 to Bjork, in addition he has been involved in a huge number of charity initiatives working on both Band Aid and Live Aid projects as well as Soccer Aid, Fashion Rocks, Comic Relief does Fame Academy, Party in the Park and Nelson Mandela’s 46664 to name but a few. His achievements to date are too numerous to list and in true “Malcolm Style” he decided to shake it up and start again when Wizz Kid Entertainment was born, his current company and owned jointly by himself and Ingenious Media Active Capital Limited.

One of our very own Local Heroes, Geoff has over 5 decades of experience working at the very top of his profession as a music video director and producer. He has worked with some of the most celebrated names within the music industry including Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Bob Geldof. His endless list of credits including ‘The Tube,’ channel 4’s legendary music show is testament to the extraordinary career Geoff has enjoyed within the music and film industry where his talents at bringing to life ‘the story’ behind each of his productions has brought about many awards including a Grammy for ‘The Beatles Anthology.’

As a passionate ‘Geordie’ lady Helen fully appreciates the impact that a sustainable film festival will have on her native North East England and is confident that the region is a perfect host for an event that will showcase its diversity, skills and passion for success to the rest of the world proving that we are very much ‘open for business.’
An entrepreneur in the field of media and entertainment since 2000, Nilakshi Sengupta, a director – producer, specializes in the fields of Digital Communication, advertising and video content creation – Fiction, non-fiction, long and short format – and live sports & entertainment production.
With a Master’s degree in English literature and extensive training on Start-ups for Women Entrepreneurship received in Mashav Israel, Nilakshi understands the dynamism of blending Art and Commerce.
Nilakshi’s knowledge of film and video formats – from the old analogue to the current digital evolution and various genres of film subjects, along with her understanding of the commerce around it, has given her a unique position to work across channels and broadcast options. Till date she has created more than 500 video contents of various lengths and genres.
For the New Castle International film festival, Nilakshi is curating artistic, entertaining and socio relevant films from across India in multiple languages and creating interesting workshops and retrospectives for the viewers to experience.
RAJIEE M SHINDE

A real trailblazer, Rajiee rose through the ranks from Head of Promo Division to become Head of Business of ETC Channel Punjabi and ZEE Punjabi while also choosing content for Alpha ETC Punjabi distributed throughout the UK and the USA. She has been instrumental in the company’s national and global success spearheading the launch of multiple channels within the network as well as the setup of PTC motion pictures.
Her vision has seen the launch of many live telecasts of events across India and abroad this has enabled her to organise and screen many big events from around the world. These include reality talent hunt shows including PTC Punjabi Music Awards, the PTC Punjabi Film Awards, PTC Punjabi Talent and Beauty Hunt, Voice of Punjab and Laughter Da Master.
As co founder and director of G Next Media PVT Limited Rajiee’s creative leadership has led to significant developments within the company and its global expansion. Amongst her many awards, she has received the Dada Saheb Phalaka Film Foundation Award for Women Entrepreneur in Film and TV 2016; the Magicka Women Achiever Award 2016; the Sangrur Heritage Award and the Vishawa Punjabi Gaurav Puraskar Award for her relentless contribution to the Punjabi entertainment industry. Amongst her accolades, Rajiee has also been recognised with excellence in media in the BIMSTEC-SAARC Women Empowerment Forum 2017.

A British-Chinese national, Apple moved to the UK at the age 16. Currently North East based, she works globally. Originally focusing on theatre and dance, her time in the UK has provided her with the platform to explore an intuitive and innovative approach to her own artistic work focusing on the body, movement and space.
She has created an increasingly diverse range of work and opportunities that is continually evolving through collaborations with artists and producers from complementary disciplines including film, visual art and dance with all reflecting notions of internationalism and transnationalism.
